Justin.tv, created by Justin kan, Michael Seibel, Kyle Vogt and Emmet Shear in 2007, is a website where anyone can broadcast their own videos online. You can broadcast your daily life activities, tutorials, video games or anything you can think of. Users from over 250 countries watch almost 300 million videos every month. It was originally launched by Justin Kan as a single channel featuring his daily life. However, in 2007, he ended his one-man show and relaunched it so that anyone can broadcast anything that abides by their Terms Of Service.

Opening an account is free of cost. Signing up is easy and fast. However, for signing up, you must be 13 years or older. For signing up, you are asked the following details:
Once you sign in, you are free to use their services. You have the option of broadcasting your videos using the webcam in your laptop or using your mobile phone. You can also broadcast a video game you are playing or your desktop. You can broadcast in 28 languages.
Your access is not limited to videos from people you follow. You can search videos on anything you are interested in and watch them. You can comment on others' videos. This way, you can make new friends. You can follow anyone's video channel and get notified of his/her new broadcast. Are you a teacher?
If you need to take a lesson, record it and let your students watch it, you can easily do so by broadcasting your desktop. All you have to do is ask your students to follow you. Then create a video by clicking on the 'Desktop' icon. Once the video is taken, you can upload the video and the video will be available for your students, under the 'Videos from people I follow' tab once they log in, to watch.
Are you a gamer?
If you want to show a new game you played, to your friends, or just show off your gaming skills, just click on the 'video game' icon, play the game while the software records it, and upload the game. If you have friends who follow you, then your video will be displayed under the 'Videos from people I follow' tab once they log in.

Justin.tv makes money by embedding advertisements within videos. By upgrading to a pro account, you can watch ad-free videos. However, even if you have a pro account, Justin.tv embeds advertisements within videos you broadcast. Pro account users have no bandwidth restriction and hence, they are allowed to view high-traffic streamed videos, at all times. A Justin.tv Pro account starts at $9.99/month or $25.99 quarterly. You do not need to upgrade to a pro account to watch videos or broadcast your videos.
A free social broadcasting site
